Vinita

Gateway to Green Country.

Our story is Oklahoma’s story.

Known as the "Gateway to Green Country," Vinita is nestled in northeast Oklahoma, where the rolling prairie meet, the foothills of the Ozarks, halfway between Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Joplin, Missouri. Founded in 1871 by Cherokee Nation leader Elias Boudinot, Vinita is the second-oldest town in Oklahoma and the first to have electricity. As the county seat of Craig County, the community serves as an economic hub for the geographic area, proud of its Native American heritage and history of innovation and advancement.
