Delmar Gardens
From 1902 to 1910, the opulent and over-the-top Delmar Gardens was Oklahoma City's premier attraction. At a sprawling 140 acres along the North Canadian River, it was reportedly the largest amusement park west of the Mississippi and hummed with a boggling array of grand entertainment such as a dance pavilion, horseracing track, exotic animal zoo, boardwalk beer garden, amusement rides, a penny arcade, a hotel, restaurant and a floating wedding chapel. This week on LoyalTV, join us for a look back at the Delmar Gardens' short but impactful mark on Oklahoma City.
