Discoveryland
In 1976, Discoveryland opened in the "Coyote Trails" area of Sand Springs. The following summer, Lt. Governor George Nigh suggested that the al fresco amphitheater stage a performance of "Oklahoma!" For the next 35 years, Discoveryland would be synonymous with the popular Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, attracting visitors from every state, and more than 32 countries. This week on LoyalTV, join us in Sand Springs for a look at the history of the favorite summertime destination!
