Ft. Sill's Buried Treasure

Lawton
S1 Episode 84
4:15

One of Oklahoma's most infamous frontier robberies resulted in a buried treasure mystery that endures to this day. In 1892, a payroll stagecoach carrying nearly $100,000 was attacked by three masked outlaws. The lone surviving thief escaped with saddlebags full of loot, but only made it as far as Fort Sill, where he dug deep and placed the treasure beneath the Oklahoma soil. It's a story of robbery and regret, and the search for buried treasure ... year after year after year.
